A Good Report
Read in Grace magazine, a good report which will bring some sweet memories back to some of us.
The Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches of Europe bi-annual conference took place at the Wycliffe Centre, High Wycombe, from 21·25 August. This was a gathering of four nations fellowshipping together around the Word of God with folks from France, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK.David Higham, GBMIt was a challenging and encouraging week with the morning Bible study brought to us by Jacques Buchhold. Jacques is a member of Église évangélique baptiste de Paris-Centre, Paris, and a Professor teaching the New Testament. He took as his theme "Heaven, Our Hope", and left us with a fresh challenge from the Word of God as to what heaven will be like, and what we can expect. Each morning included discussion groups and information sharing.
The aftermoons consisted of outings to Oxford, Windsor, and places of interest in the local area.
Each evening was a time of fellowship and a sharing of news and testimony, which added to a well-balanced programme for the week.
The language barrier was overcome with excellent simultaneous translation in the three spoken languages.
It is my hope to see this fellowship and willingness to co-operate bearing more and more fruit over the coming years - working together in partnership in church planting, evangelistic teams, and an international youth camp - so that cultural barriers may be overcome and the gospel advanced across a vast and spirilually needy continent.
The organising committee worked hard to make this a successful conference and we look forward to 2008!
