Our first FEBE/ABE Pastors' Conference has taken place! Over thirty participants met in the stunning surroundings of Velingrad, Bulgaria. We had expected a larger number of pastors from the Eastern countries, but nevertheless they were well represented.
The exchanges with our Bulgarian and Romanian brothers and sisters were very fruitful, and many of them have clearly expressed their interest in keeping in touch. The possibility of extending an invitation to our conference is being considered.
As the EU is in process of expansion, so is the Fellowship among brothers and sisters.
I have tried to find the fly in the ointment, but I can’t find it! The Lord has once again shown His goodness towards us and towards our General Secretary, Paul Appéré, kingpin of this wonderful project!
On our next committee in Paris, in November, we will decide together what should be the next step to follow this very blessed experience.
We achieved the two objectives set by the Committee.
First, allow us, aside from having a spiritual renewal, to be trained in a preaching firmly based on the Scriptures and “linked” to the current needs of our contemporaries.
Second, to forge relationships with the representatives of churches from the Eastern countries with an eye to mutual support in the tasks on our respective locations.
The speakers exceeded all our expectations in the quality of their teaching, from the morning meditations, to the training sessions, to the evening studies. Everything was handled with competence and enthusiasm.
Everyone was very welcoming, the setting was beautiful and the weather lovely.
